Salzburgs Harvest Festival

as authentic as can be

Enjoy the full flavor of Salzburg during Harvest Festival 2013

With over 2,000 events between August 24 and October 27, 2013, focused squarely on folk customs and country handicrafts. More than 80 Salzburg County communities come together to celebrate Harvest Festival.

Salzburg's culinary regions serve up such delicious treats as "Salzkammergut Reinanka" (like a trout), the "Lungauer Eachtling" (a very delicate potato) and "Tennengau Almkäse" (Cheese made high up on the mountain pastures).

"Just the thought of it makes your mouth water!" – and seemingly everywhere you go there are specialities to taste: at farmhouses and high pastures, at farmers' markets, in friendly country inns and at internationally acclaimed gourmet restaurants.

As the temperatures begin to get a little cooler, our taste buds deserve something special: a juicy roast, tasty mountain cheeses and, to warm the cockles of your heart, a sip of home-distilled schnapps.
