Gastronomic walk. From farm to farm, tracking down fine local specialities with relaxation and energy building exercises at a Celtic ley point. Every Friday from May till October
A gentle walk from farm to farm tracking down local specialities including Schnaps, butter and cheese and Schotten , with an opportunity to relax and refresh yourself at the Celtic ley point on Nagelköpfl. This tour starts at 10.00 by the Tannenhof Hotel and proceeds to the Oberkammer farm where Monika will explain the production of Schotten, a smoked Pinzgauer cheese. Then it is uphill to Nagel farm, where the baking oven looks like a gingerbread house in the garden. The crispy bread that Lisi bakes would tempt any Hansel and Gretel. Afterwards, her husband Georg will take you into the Distillery and discuss the fine detail of the distillation of Schnapps.
Erwin, your guide and Mineral expert will then lead you to the ley point on the Nagelköpfel and demonstrate relaxation exercises under the positive influence of mountain quartz. After enjoying the exercises and the marvellous view, he will lead you down to Krapf farm, where Anni will lead you round her herb garden and explain the medicinal uses of many of the plants. The last stop is Hansenhaus farm, where Barbara produces delicious butter and cheese. In each case there will be presentations and tastings, with opportunities to purchase these and other farm produce.
