Lamprechts cave
The "Lamprechts cave" with a total length of nearly 51 kilometers is one of the biggest grotto systems in Europe. In 1993 speleologists (cave explorers) from Poland discovered a further entrance to the cave system at a height of 2,178 meters. Cave systems with these sort of double entrances / exits have a special name, "Durchgangshöhle" or "through caves". With a vertical differance of over 1000m between these entrances, the "Lamprechts cave" is the biggest of its type in the world.
In the part of the cave open to visitors, you walk nearly 700 meters into and over 70 meters up into the mountain on well prepared footpaths. There you will come to a viewing gallery where you will see the impressively illuminated main cave.
